As my mother would say, I went gallivanting all over the countryside this weekend, spending time with friends. I did quite a bit of driving, and right before I left Friday afternoon my Dad (who knows how much I adore his brand new truck) threw me the keys!
I could have taken tons of routine pictures, but what else is there but Facebook? I check that thing all the time, and yesterday while I was home sick I spent a little extra time on there, in between the naps I was taking. =)
God bless the Halls and Puffs companies for my cherry flavored throat and my not too chapped red nose. Let's hope the drugs start kicking in soon!
I work in a small town newspaper, that has been in existence for over 100 years. There are tons of artifacts and nifty old things in my office, dating years back, that my boss has kept from his father, grandfather, and great grandfather. 
One of my favorite things to capture is an awesome shot of the sun.
I managed to snap this shot while I was out getting dinner last night for my boss and myself. Tuesday nights are spent at my desk, working hard to get the newspaper to the press for Wednesday's publication. So, it's nice to get to leave the office for a few minutes.

Trees fascinate me. They possess such intricacy's, from their inner most trunk to the thousands of leaves springing off of branches, that are springing off of larger limbs.
I have been waiting patiently to do this picture ever since we started! And it turned out perfect in my eyes!! For one, I am absolutely enthralled with the Harry Potter series right now. It's taken me about 3 months (give or take) to get to Book 6 (HP & The Half Blood Prince), and I can't imagine having read the books as they came out. My patience would not have lasted between books!
Go figure...of course my favorite pattern right now is on my fabulous new purse. =)
I love my bedspread/quilt. It's heavy enough to be warm, but light enough not to smother you.
I love the beautiful paper in our front office at work. It makes me happy when I walk by. :)
That's a piece o' cake! ;-) And it was for my birthday...which is technically still going on! It was delicious. Thanks to my co-workers for bringing it to work today. Made the day a little better.
Our tiny town is in the process of getting a Super Wal-Mart...which is really big news around here. :) It just so happens to be right down the hill from my house, so I pass this 4 to 5 times a day. I'm excited for it to finally be open!

I LIVE in these shoes during the summer. They already have a spot worn on them because I wear them so much. LOVE these sandals. Apparently everyone else loves them as well, because I tried ordering another pair and they are out of stock!! Hopefully they will stock up again, because these babies are super comfy.
I have been so busy this summer I haven't been keeping track of the fact that football season is upon us!! And in my household, it's like a religion. Ever since I can remember (and probably back before) my family have been die-hard Oklahoma Sooner fans. When the game is on the radio, no one talks. Or Mom will shush you.

I am my own oxymoron. As many of you know, I ADORE shoes. Like...seriously love them. However, as much as I love shoes, I love to be barefoot. And it has been that way since I was a kid. It's the reason I have amazon feet that are wider than the Grand Canyon. Wherever we went, you could be sure that within 4.56 seconds flat I would have my shoes off. Didn't matter where I was! I've learned to curb that wild desire (har har) but I still love to have my shoes off. The best alternative: flip flops! That would be why I have a kajillion pair in my closet! =)
I LOVE my new monogrammed bag from Thirty-One. I got it months ago, and have been using it off and on, but I used it this last week as my carry-on, and it worked perfectly. I was able to fit my laptop & cords, my Bible, a bottle of water, my favorite candy, my giant HP book (Book 6 is a whopper, but SO good!), my sunglasses, a sudoku book, and a pair of flip flops!
Working hard to look like I'm working hard. ;-)
