Christmas, Christmas Time is Here

I heard my first rendition of the Chipmunks Christmas song last night. That's when you know the holiday season has definitely started. :)

I knew going into November that my blogging would get sparse but goodness! It seems I'm a busier bee than normal this holiday season. It isn't even December 1st (almost!) and already every Saturday in December has something written on the calendar! And almost all Friday's have something written on them as well.

Of course, after December 22nd it all won't matter because I will be in (wanna guess??).... Yep! You got it! NEW YORK! :)

So, I have TONS of homemade projects going on right now, and I can't blog a single thing about any of them! It makes me sad. BUT, I don't want to be giving away any surprises to certain people I know read my blog. So they will just have to wait. And of course I will post tutorials after Christmas. There's always birthdays and next Christmas! ;-)

We had family over this weekend for Thanksgiving and I attempted a hurried 10 minute project 30 minutes before everyone arrived. I was trying to save some space in my bathroom, and it worked! Just to tease you, I'll post the tutorial tomorrow.

I Like Lists

I love weekends. Fo sho. They are my friend. Especially when fun things are planned!

I'm sorry I abandoned you last week! I fully intended to post Thursday or Friday, but my weekend plans got me all tied up and I *shocker* forgot about you all. :) I'm truly sorry. I know you've been crying all weekend about it. *teehee*

So, I have lots of things swirling around in my head, but I can't quite get them all together on this Monday, so I'll just give you a foretaste. (I love that word...foretaste.)

I have an affinity for vintage keys.

More on that later.

I love the word affinity.

Affinity is the new word of the week. Check it.

I've been feeling restless about my blog lately, and have been wanting to change it up. Suggestions are welcome. I love vintage, old-school stuff, but I also like fresh, new things too. I love crafts, and I love decorating, and I love scrapbooking, and I love being random. :)

I love The Pioneer Woman. She's the bomb.com. I even got to see her speak a few weeks ago! She was hilarious. And gorgeous.

Her real name is Ree, and she is altogether funny and inspiring. Check out her blog *here*. She is definitely a blogging inspiration.

So, I'm pretty much the worst blogger ever. With my new workload at my job, among other various things, it seems I never have time to sit down and devote to writing in this thing.

Wishlist Wednesday

My fabulous friend Katherine got me into scrapbooking and I truly love it. It's not just the scrapbooks that are fun to make, but the crafty items you can make with scrapbook paper and embellishments. I love making my own cards and different crafts. However, I have no room for my scrapbooking stuff. Any time I want to scrap I must drag ALL of my tools out to the dining room table. And then, it sits there for weeks before I can clean it all up. It's rather annoying.

I so wish I could have my very own fabulous craft room. Just seeing these pictures gives me warm fuzzies. =)

Drum roll please...

I'm sorry it's taken me all weekend to finally post! I was without internet access from Thursday until now, but NO MORE excuses!!

In case you don't know, I have been going to Weight Watchers for over a year. This is probably my 5th time to join. Obviously, I have horrible self-control, and almost no motivation. However, last year, around my birthday in August, I got the motivation I needed. I started finally shedding pounds, in a consistent manner. Right before Thanksgiving, that motivation disappeared. It was no longer a part of my life. But at that moment that it was gone, I decided that it was ridiculous to be losing weight for someone or something. I needed to lose weight to be healthy, and to make myself happy.

So, after a stinking YEAR of being consistently on Weight Watchers, I am OVERJOYED to announce that I FINALLY reached my 25lbs GONE this last Thursday!

*HAPPY DANCE*

I literally did a happy dance when the lady weighing me in told me I had lost 3 lbs., which gave me a grand total of 25.8 lbs. gone!

This is my 25 lb. weight that goes on my keychain. It is my little reminder that I never want those 25 lbs. back on my body EVER again!

What I love so much is that I can tell a difference. I feel better, I am starting to look different, and the only place to go from here is DOWN! =)

I'm going to be posting pictures every so often so I can have my own little accountability system. I've never lost this much weight before on Weight Watchers, so I'm very excited to see what the future has to hold for me!

Hopefully there is someone, somewhere out there that I can help motivate to do this for themselves. It's not about dieting, or trying to look good for someone. It's about changing your lifestyle, and the way you think about food, and getting to a place where you are happy with yourself.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Easter weekend. Spend time with your family, eat lots of candy, and most importantly, don't forget who we are really celebrating.

P.S. Random Thought of the Day: Somehow the combination of my coconut body wash, honey hand soap, and Aussie hair products have made me smell like tanning lotion. It's wonderful. I smell like a beach! It makes me want to be out in the sun really bad.

So apparently I'm only blogging once a week...if that. How sad. I keep meaning to sit down and write, but never seem to get around to it. I've been working on an on-going scrap project full of inspirational verses and songs. I've taken a few photos, and need to post them. Alas, my social calendar seems to be filled to the brim. =)

However, I have a spare moment, and Thursday I found some awesome inspiration. I love making business cards. It may be one of my favorite things to design. So I often just go to Google to get ideas, and there are some pretty sweet cards out there.

I found a very awesome site, AG Design, that has TONS of inspiration. Here are just a few designs that I truly loved.


I really love round business cards. I have yet to make one, because most of my clientele are old fashioned and don't like cool things, but one of these days I'll design one. And the cool concept of perfing the side so you can put it in a Rolodex is a VERY cool idea.

This is one of my favs. First, I'm a little obsessed with handwriting fonts right now. My favorites come from Kevin and Amanda. But I'm also always trying to find new ways of saying the same stuff, and I really like how they used the "T, F and E" with the arrows beside them. It's obvious what they stand for, and it's very cool.

I just love pink! And this card is bomb.

This is one of the coolest ideas I've seen in awhile. This is an old pantone color card, that they put a well placed sticker on, to make a business card. LOVE IT. Perfect for a designer or printer.


Just plain cool. You would have to know a VERY good printer to get these done.

My other very favorite one. This is SUCH an awesome concept.

This made me laugh.


This is one of my favorite cards I've designed. They are for a very cool friend who makes awesome cakes and yummy cookies. If you live in the area, you should totally check him out. And visit his hilarious blog! We call him...The Cake Whiskerer.
